Are you busy?

Think about the last time you asked someone how they were, what was their answer? Did they tell you they have been busy?

When someone asks you how you are, do you say the same thing? Do you tell them you’ve been busy?

What happens when answered this way repeatedly, you will convince yourself that you’re always busy. You will feel like you constantly run out of time and can’t fit anything in because you’re overwhelmed and it will put you into a state of panic.

Are you familiar with the saying that our experience and language creates our reality? By saying that we are always busy, we are convincing ourselves that we do not have the time to achieve the things we want to get done. But there is an entire range of other ways that we can choose to shape our language.

When someone asks how you are, you can re-phrase your answer from busy to – fantastic, amazing, feeling good or having a great day. There are so many positive ways to frame what you’re doing and how you’re feeling. The more positive you are, the more you will feel it throughout the rest of your body, and you’ll find your days improve.

We can use our language to enhance our experiences to create a positive reality for ourselves and our day to day lives. So the next time someone asks you how you are and you feel yourself about to use the 'b' word, choose to say something different!

You can open up your mind to time to fit more in by saying things like; I’m great at rearranging my calendar to make sure I have time for things, or I can easily fit in the tasks that I need to fit in. Use these words intentionally to convince yourself that you have the time to do whatever it is you need to.
